Colorado West Regional Mental Health operates a nonmedical
detoxification program.

This acute care program to withdraw from drugs and/or alcohol
is one-to-five days in duration and provides a safe, supervise
environment for intoxicated individuals who may be a danger
to themselves or others.

Staff monitors the physical status of the client and assists them
to manage their withdrawal symptoms using medication if necessary. The staff also assesses the nature of the client’s involvement with alcohol or other drugs, and when appropriate, motivates the clients
to pursue treatment for their addiction.

The staff collaborates with other agency mental health professionals
to determine whether a secondary diagnosis of mental illness may involved and assists the client to address their mental health needs.
