Some Evidence-Based Practices offered:
MIND OVER MOOD Teaches specific skills to overcome a wide variety of issues including depression, panic attacks, anxiety, guilt, shame, low self-esteem, eating disorders, substance abuse and relationship problems.
DIALECTICAL BEHAVIOR THERAPY (DBT) Helps identify thoughts, beliefs and assumptions that make life harder and uses concepts of mindfulness, interpersonal effectiveness, distress tolerance and emotional regulation. An individual can learn different ways of thinking that will make life more pleasant.
MULTI MODAL THERAPY (The Columbia Model) Appropriate for children and adolescents aged 6-16 who are demonstrating behavioral difficulties. Parental involvement is strongly encouraged during this process which focuses on goal setting, decision-making skills and behavior management.
SEEKING SAFETY Used with both adolescents and adults who have experienced trauma, substance abuse issues and/or self-harming behaviors. It emphasizes goal setting, positive decision-making, coping skills, relapse prevention and identifying community supports.
CHRONIC DISEASE MANAGEMENT Via mobile tele-health technology, RN Care Managers help clients attain treatment goals with information and support in management of chronic illness and chronic pain.
PEER SUPPORT Been there, done that! Individuals in recovery provide advocacy, coaching and one-on-one or group support to those seeking assistance. Goal-setting, problem-solving, coping and wellness skills, emotional regulation, anxiety management and self-esteem enhancement are taught.
MOTIVATIONAL INTERVIEWING An individual-centered approach to increase motivation and readiness to change through exploration and resolution of internal conflicts around change.
COGNITIVE BEHAVIORAL THERAPY (CBT) Combines behavior therapy and ‘thinking’ therapy in addressing dysfunctional emotions, behaviors and thoughts through a goal-oriented, systematic process. It is effective for a variety of conditions including mood, anxiety, personality, eating, substance abuse, trauma-induced and psychotic disorders.
FAMILY PSYCHO-EDUCATION Trains families to work together as part of an overall treatment plan for family members. It has been shown to improve outcomes for people with schizophrenia and other major mental illnesses.
AGGRESSION REPLACEMENT TREATMENT (ART) For teenagers who show aggressive behaviors, this treatment identifies risky situations, focuses on ways to reduce anger and teaches social and trouble-avoidance skills.
INTEGRATED TREATMENT FOR DUAL DIAGNOSIS Helps people recover from both substance abuse and mental health issues by offering service for both at the same time and in the same setting.
MEDICATION MANAGEMENT Offered in conjunction with traditional and other therapies to achieve maximum recovery from symptoms.
