President & Chief Executive Officer Sharon Raggio, LPC LMFT MBA Sharon’s vision, energy and passion for mental health care have been the motivating factors in Colorado West’s dramatic across-the-board improvements since she joined the company in March 2008. Under Sharon’s leadership, quality of services has dramatically improved, processes have been streamlined and staff training, education and credentials increased. CW has successfully introduced and maintained an ‘Access and Engagement’ program that has brought Same Day Appointments to clients and accolades to the company for superlative results in treatment effectiveness and completion rates. Prior to joining Colorado West, Ms. Raggio served as COO at Pikes Peak Behavioral Health Group. Chief Financial Officer Bonnie Wasli A financial expert with heart, Bonnie has been instrumental in transforming Colorado West in a mere few years into the fiscally thriving organization it is today. Through her fiscal stewardship, the company’s valuation has grown six fold. Her career concentration in health care has included responsibility at numerous hospitals on the Front Range as well as Valley View Hospital in Glenwood Springs. Vice President, Hospital Kim Boe, ACHE MM HRM Initially hired as Operations Officer, Kim joined Colorado West and our hospital in June 2009 and was named Vice President in 2010. She has a BA in Therapeutic Recreation as well as a Master’s Degree in Management and Human Resources. Prior to joining CW, Kim spent over 24 years working for a private, for-profit, psychiatric hospital in Casper, Wyoming. She is focused on providing excellent psychiatric care for our patients. Vice President, Mental Health Center Tish Starbuck, ACHE Tish has over thirty years of experience in healthcare and has held many leadership roles in her career. She is a nurse by background and has a Master’s Degree in Healthcare Administration and a Master’s Certificate in Bioethics and Health Policy. She has been a hospital executive at St. Mary’s Hospital in Grand Junction and most recently St. John’s Health Center in Santa Monica, CA. Her management philosophy is grounded in the principles of Peter Senge’s learning organization and systems thinking. She is also a strong believer in continuous quality improvement and team involvement. |

Regional Director Tom Gangel, MA Tom oversees Colorado West services and staff in a 6-county region, providing support to 4,000+ clients a year. He has been in the mental health field for over 25 years, working in private practice, hospitals and mental health centers. He has also been a professor at two universities. Tom joined Colorado West in 1999 and is committee chairman of the Behavioral Health of the Northwest Community Project, a group that has seen success in creating an ‘integrated community care’ mental health team serving primary care providers in Routt County. He is also Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Yampa Valley Autism Project. Tom’s career has been dedicated to the effective delivery of mental health and substance abuse services. Regional Director Krista McClinton, MS LPC A Licensed Professional Counselor and native of Alabama, Krista has 17 years experience in community mental health. She joined Colorado West in 1999 as a mental health and emergency services clinician. She served as Program Director for our Eagle & Vail offices and was named Regional Director in 2011. She now directs Colorado West services and staff in Eagle, Garfield & Pitkin counties. Krista is also the Colorado Consortium Project Administrator, overseeing the Electronic Health Record for our organization. Regional Director Michelle Hoy, MA, LPC, CACIII Michelle is a Licensed Professional Counselor and a Certified Addictions Counselor, level three. Michelle joined the organization in 2004 and oversees all outpatient and residential services in Mesa County. She has worked as a school-based therapist and was embedded in the Department of Human Services. She has worked with individuals of all ages, having started at Colorado West as a therapist, becoming Program Coordinator of Juvenile Justice services then Program Director of outpatient therapy before her current position. |

Director of Human Resources Karen Birmingham Karen has a Bachelor’s Degree with a dual major in Business Management and Industrial Relations and Personnel (Human Resources). Karen has worked in a variety of Human Resources settings including hotel/casino management. She has over 16 years of HR experience and has been with Colorado West since 2003. Director of Development Suzanne Sloan Suzanne believes each of us has a responsibility to give back to the communities where we live, in some way. Initially motivated by a personal love for volunteer work and how it shaped her, her experience in healthcare started at Northwestern University Medical School in Chicago over 20 years ago. From there, she worked for a large hospital system in the Midwest prior to moving back to Colorado where she has continued work in Development at two hospital systems on the Western Slope. Director of Marketing Chriss Flynn Combining her 25+ years of marketing and promotion expertise with her lifelong social services avocation means Chriss is enjoying the best of both worlds at Colorado West. Coloradan by spirit though New Yorker by birth, Chriss spent many years as a marketing, promotion and media strategist/architect for major organizations and television networks like ESPN, HBO and Starz/Encore. She has been a licensed Colorado State Long-Term Care Ombudsman and has an affinity for working in an industry that brings positive change to people’s lives. Director of Compliance Suzanne Wagster, MBA, LPC Suzanne has a Master’s in Business Administration degree from the Wharton Graduate School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania, and a Master’s degree in Clinical Counseling from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Colorado. Suzanne has worked at large corporations such as IBM and as a therapist in rural Southeast Colorado. She has worked as both a Quality Director in mental health and now as Compliance Director which utilizes both her clinical and business backgrounds. Information Technology Director Shaun Charles Shaun has been working in the Information Technology field for 13 years and has drawn his experience from different industry settings including telecommunications, technology, non-profit, and public education. Shaun has a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology and is currently working towards his Master of Business Administration with an emphasis on Information Technology Management. Shaun joined Colorado West in 2012 and is responsible for all Information Technology related resources. When Shaun isn’t working he likes to hunt and spend time with his wife and children. |
